Joining our list of Gompers Educational Conference speakers is Executive Secretary-Treasurer and Chief Officer of the California Labor Federation, Art Pulaski. Since he assumed office in 1996, Art has reinvigorated grassroots activism among California's expansive labor movement.
At the young age of 16, Art joined the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union in his capacity as a supermarket stock clerk in Connecticut. Since then, every step along the way has been devoted to organized labor and community coalition building as a means to improve the lives of working people.
From passing landmark legislation to electing worker-friendly politicians, Art's organizing work and strategic leadership with the California State Fed over the past 11 years has been central to making California a workers first state.
