Last year, parents, educators, and students displayed phenomenal solidarity as we won a landslide victory in Massachusetts against the forces of privatization; defeating a dangerous ballot initiative that would have drained hundreds of millions of dollars from our public schools. Now, the struggle continues. Come out to Boston Common at the corner of Beacon and Charles Street on May 20, 2017 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

We encourage all union members, allies, and community affiliates to join Massachusetts Education Justice Alliance (MEJA) as they unite teachers, parents, and students to stand together in resistance against the plans and policies of Trump, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, and Governor Charlie Baker. Demands of the day will include:

  • Full funding for public education, Pre-K through college
  • Debt-free public higher education
  • Less testing, more learning
  • Equitable access to quality education for all students

Now is the time to demand the public schools and colleges our communities deserve. By uniting our struggles, we can build a movement for racial and economic justice and fight more effectively for a just society and future.
