Louis A. Mandarini, Jr.
Louis A. Mandarini Jr. has spent his entire life in, around, and leading the Massachusetts labor movement.
Born into a union activist family, Lou’s father was long-time Laborers’ Local 22 Business Manager, Louis A. Mandarini, Sr. From an early age, Lou made the most of opportunities to work in and around the construction industry, including working summers providing water to construction workers when he was only 15 at jobs throughout Boston. Lou eventually followed his father’s lead, working as laborer and then becoming a business agent for Local 22 in 1979.
In the 35 years since he assumed his first leadership position in Local 22, Lou has held numerous elected positions throughout the Massachusetts labor movement, and today serves as President of the Greater Boston Labor Council, Secretary-Treasurer of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO and Secretary-Treasurer of the Massachusetts State Building and Construction Trades Council.
