Chrissy Lynch is the President of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO.

Chrissy Lynch previously served as the Secretary-Treasurer and Chief of Staff of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO. In this role, she was the Chief Financial Officer of the Federation and also responsible for ensuring the ability of the President to exercise their duties by managing staff and operations to maximize effectiveness in strategic alignment with unions and allies. She also manages special projects and campaigns of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, including serving as Co-Director of the Massachusetts Is Not For Sale statewide campaign; and spearheading the formation of Climate Jobs Massachusetts. She has served 15 years at the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, executing the political and legislative priorities of the Labor Movement.

As Director of Operations for the Greater Boston Building Trades Unions, Chrissy helped run programs that advanced equity, inclusion, and community standards in the construction industry. Before working for organized labor in Massachusetts, she worked on union-led electoral campaigns in California and Massachusetts.

Chrissy is a founding member of Raise Up Massachusetts. She currently serves as an elected member of the Democratic State Committee, on the Board of Directors of Building Pathways, on the Board of Directors of the Boston Private Industry Council, and on the Board of Cornell University’s Climate Jobs Institute.

Chrissy is a member of LiUNA Local 22 and OPEIU Local 6. Before her time with the Labor Movement, she worked several jobs that hadn’t yet been organized – including several years as a barista, waitstaff, catering, and PCA. Her experience in non-union sectors that hadn’t yet been organized led her to the Labor Movement.

Chrissy is a graduate of the Harvard Trade Union Program in the Harvard Labor and Worklife Center at Harvard Law School, has a Master’s Degree in Labor Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Suffolk University, and an Associate’s Degree from Massasoit Community College. She lives in Quincy with her husband, 2 children and 2 dogs.
